That was a lot of work! I am now in the home stretch of the Prologue. I only need to do the line art and coloring now and I will have 19 full complete comic pages. I started drawing this thing back in October, and it feels surreal to be nearly done with the whole chapter.
Now just because the Prologue is on the verge of being finished, that doesn't mean my work is over yet. As I've stated in a previous post my plan is to upload the entire Prologue all at once. I was originally planning on doing Chapter 1 as well, but if I tried that it's very likely the earliest release date of this comic would shift all the way to April or later. While I've surprised myself with the amount of drive I've managed to summon to complete 19 comic pages in a row, I would be lying if I said the idea of doubling that before finally being able to release a single page doesn't give me a feeling similar to when you know you're about to throw up.
So the plan now is to release the Prologue all at once and then move into the standard "once a week on Wednesday" update schedule with Chapter 1. The final caveat here is that if I want to be safe about having pages to post, I'll need to draw a chunk of Chapter 1 to have as backlog. The plan with that is to do about 6-8 pages so I'll have a few weeks at least before having to worry about missing a week's update. It sucks to have to draw more pages after I finish the Prologue but that's life.
The last thing to mention is the current planned release date. January 2026 is not looking super likely. Maybe it'd be possible with a super brutal sprint but I'm not risking burnout on this comic. So my current release target is shifting a bit to February 2026. I think that date is entirely possible considering where the comic is at right now.
